Gateway Rehab has a wonderful opportunity for a Director, Food Services who will is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of food services across our continuum of care, including contract management, menu planning, food preparation, inventory management, and staff training and supervision. The Director is an integral part of the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of customer service to our patients. This position supervises and directs the total food service operation.

The Director is an integral part of the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of customer service to our patients. This position supervises and directs the total food service operation.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and monitor contract agreements with outside vendors.
- Plans, assigns and inspects the work of food service staff.
- Schedules and assigns staff, prepares department payroll.
- Supervises the storage & care of food and supplies.
- Oversees the cleaning of the kitchen, storage, dining areas, and equipment.
- Inspects food items for consistency with the specified menu.
- Assists on tray line at mealtimes.
- Coordinates and plans food preparation activities for special events.
- Ordering and purchasing.
- Ensures staff training, competency, and orientation.
- Attends mandatory in-services and trainings.
- Travels to various sites, as necessary.
- Knowledge of food safety, storage, and sanitation standards.
- Must have the training, experience, and ability to direct the total food service operation.
- Must have knowledge of large quantity meal preparation and menu planning.
- Must have purchasing, strong human relations, communication, and business.
- Budget responsibility for food services
- Develop Dietary services to match the uniqueness of the program.
- Ability to meet with department leadership for feedback and develop plans for improvement.
- Must have good management skills.
- Solid leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to work as a team member.
- Strong knowledge of large scale & therapeutic food prep.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, restaurant management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of food service management experience.
- ServSafe certification required.
- Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) strongly preferred
- Pass PA Criminal Background Check
- Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances
- Pass Drug Screen
- TB Test
