JOB DESCRIPTION
Grants Specialist
Summary: Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Grants Specialist will manage grant/funding process for all programs operated under the GBAPP umbrella. Grants Specialist will work closely with program managers, community partners, and funding sources to achieve agency’s goals
Responsibilities: Oversees all GBAPP grants and reporting requirements including subcontractors.

- Monitors state and federal contracts with funded agencies and Programs
- Work with GBAPP staff on grant writing on collaborative projects with other agencies.
- Maintains and strengthens collaborative relationships with other health and social service organizations, government agencies and business community
- Represents the Executive Director as needed at conferences and related activities
- Look for new funding opportunities at local, state, and federal levels
- Researches funding sources and disseminates information on funding opportunities to GBAPP Staff
- Performs a variety of administrative support activities to ensure the Grants Office financial, personnel and proposal requirements are met in a timely manner.
- Assists with quality assurance and evaluation of funded programs
- Reports to funding sources as required by grant guidelines and reporting procedures.
- Coordinates the work of other office support staff assisting with grant related projects.
- Performs other related duties as required
QUALIFICAT IONS
- A master’s degree in Public Health, or Human Services or related field; and five years’ experience managing public health, community organizations, or human services programs.
- Experience with Requests for Proposals (RFP) and/or grant development, program design, and evaluation.
- Must be proficient using spreadsheet, word processing, database programs, and presentation software and must have experience integrating software applications to produce complex documents.
- Good knowledge of the special needs of the HIV/AIDS & Young Adults Services
- Good knowledge and familiarity with the Greater Bridgeport service delivery system.
- Proficiency in written and oral expression; must have excellent computer skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Must have knowledge of techniques used for online database research.
- Demonstrated experience in HTML coding and/or web specific software is required.
- Must have the ability to learn and apply knowledge of all pertinent federal, state and local regulations
- Ability and willingness to travel as necessary.
- Must hold current CT driver’s license, have own transportation and proof of insurance
