Our Machinist position is a full-time onsite position at our Chamblee, GA facility. New hires will work our 1st shift work schedule of Monday-Friday 6:00AM – 2:30PM ET during training. New hires will move to our 2nd shift work schedule of Monday-Friday 4:10PM – 1:00AM ET after training is complete. Overtime is available but not mandatory. Opportunities to switch shifts is based on business need and customer demand.

Job Description
Your Role:
- Prioritize safety above all else by maintaining a rigorous adherence to safety standards and processes, ensuring that safety risks and issues are identified, reported, and addressed immediately;
- Follow methods, standards, and work instructions to:
- Set up and operate a variety of machines performing various machining operations from simple to very complex using both manual and CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machining equipment (including, but not limited to - mills, drills, grinders, lathes, horizontal / vertical bore);
- Select and grind tools in accordance with hardness, machine capability, and properties of material to be machined;
- Use a variety of measuring devices;
- Use a variety of associated shop equipment and tooling;
- Utilize hand tools to assemble and disassemble components.

- Approach daily work with continuous improvement in mind, working to continuously develop and improve mechanical assembly department practices to reduce cycle time, improve machine availability and efficiency, and lower operating costs.

- Ability to lift, move and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
- Associate's Degree in a Machining discipline and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc.
- High School Diploma/GED with a Machining certification from an accredited university with courses that cover: Mathematics, CNC Milling, CNC Lathes, Print Reading, Machine Tooling, G&M code, FANUC controls, and hands on machine application (i.e. capstone, shop hours) and a minimum of 1 year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc.
- High School Diploma / GED with a Journeyman's card with completion of a Machining apprentice program and a minimum of 1-year general machine shop experience in set-up and operation of a variety of manual and CNC machines: including mills, drills, grinders, broaches, turret lathes, horizontal bore, EDM, engine lathes, etc.
- Ability to maintain rigorous adherence to safety standards and processes
- 5-years’ experience in Steam Turbine Repairs
- 3-years’ experience in MasterCam and Verisurf
- Strong math skills to include trigonometry, algebra, etc.
- CNC, M and G code programming experience
- Large CNC lathe, Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM), or Large Vertical Boring Mill (VBM) experience
