Job Description Summary
The Advanced Technology Organization is responsible for driving growth through technology. This is achieved by researching market and customer needs and developing the requisite technologies to meet those needs. Our team supports both military and commercial customers in land, sea, and air domains.The successful candidate will be able to translate customer product requests into technical proposals that cover scope, cost, and schedule for mil-aero power electronic products and systems. This role will deal with ambiguous and complex situations that require tenacity and creative problem solving. In addition to new product proposal management, this role will have secondary responsibilities related to R&D project management.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Serves as the technical leader/manager to develop a scope of work and plan schedule and monitor engineering activities for customer projects. Provide technical leadership and interface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Engineering, Sourcing, Engineering sub-contractors.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
Bachelor’s degree in the following: Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, System Engineering
Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience in the development of complex products related to the conversion or generation of electrical power for vehicles
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree with a Bachelor’s degree in the following: Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
Product development experience utilizing Silicon Carbide or Gallium Nitride MOSFETS
Military or Commercial Aviation product experience
Export Control Compliance Training
Design Thinking
Design of Experiments
Teaching technical topics or processes to others
