Summary/Objective
The Sanitation Lead is responsible for ensuring sanitation of plant equipment, premises, and grounds.This position will lead a team of workers on swing shift, although hours may vary with harvest andpacking season. This position reports to the Sanitation Manager.
Essential Functions

1. Sanitize all equipment/food contact surfaces as required.
2. Follow all cleaning guidelines.
3. Execute efficient “top-down” sanitation procedures.
4. Work independently as well as with a team.
5. Ability to receive instructions and feedback.
6. Assist in general training of new sanitation workers.
7. Must be able to disassemble and assemble equipment to be cleaned.
8. Does other maintenance work as necessary or required.
9. Complies with and helps implement plant safety.
10. Responds to all safety violations and reports accordingly.

Supervisory Responsibility
This is a lead position. Although there is no direct supervisor responsibility, the Lead will be expected to direct the work of others, assist team members as needed and communicate with the Sanitation managers as appropriate.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Required Education and Experience
- 1-3 years' experience in Sanitation.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Ability to handle hazardous chemicals for specialized cleaning assignments.
- Familiarity with GMP and other safety procedures associated with a fruit warehouse.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous experience in a production/agricultural setting.
- Forklift experience.
