Summary:
The Field Project Specialist is responsible for facilitation and the implementation of key operations initiatives and continuous improvement projects. The ultimate goal of this role is to provide field support, training, and project management; designed to improve operational efficiencies and increase customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will utilize technical, as well as operational skills to drive operational efficiencies across the supply chain.
Essential Duties/Accountabilities:
- Manage and facilitate warehouse/showroom projects and efficiency initiatives.
- Implement warehouse layout best practices across all locations.
- Assist with the coordination of facility improvements, relocations, and moves.
- Provide on-site support and direction for project implementations.
- Prepare project updates and presentations.
- Assist in the evaluation and update of SOP's related to projects.
- Implement Best Practices and act as a liaison during project rollout.
- Generate project implementation status reports.
- Improve field operations specifically in space optimization, inventory utilization, and productivity.
- Conduct on-site visits to evaluate space optimization and quality improvement opportunities, and the effectiveness of programs.
- Evaluate all equipment handling systems utilized (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Monitor and evaluate branch operations process and procedure effectiveness.
- Assist in development of analytical tools designed to improve operational efficiencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Logistics or Related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing and implementing projects.
- Must be able to multi-task and work within daily deadlines.
- Strong written, verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated and able to influence others with strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Must be a self-starter and self-motivated.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently and interact effectively with internal and external customers.
- Proficient in MS Office, (advanced Excel skills), Access.
- Must be willing to travel.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Lean Six Sigma or ISO experience preferred.
- 5S experience preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- AS400 experience a plus.
