Senior Buyer

Job Description

This Senior Buyer position is for the Support Services area of the Procurement organization. This position is for a highly motivated individual who will establish and manage sourcing to affect the bottom line savings for the company.

• Responsible for the acquisition of complex, high dollar supplies & services; placement and execution is performed through a wide variety of purchasing contracts.
• Negotiates cost and price elements, terms and conditions to reduce total costs and liability exposure for purchase orders, long term contracts, modifications and/or services consistent with company policies. 
• Reviews for compliance with federal contract regulations and various reporting requirements in accordance with departmental procedures, FAR, DFAR, and laws. 
• Develops / compiles solicitation documents, with guidance, and leads the sourcing and contracting process including supplier search, proposal evaluation, source selection, and contract negotiations (cost, price, terms, and award) with support.
• Knowledge of price analysis sufficient to review unique proposals against previous history, actual and estimated expenditures, and established rates to determine price reasonableness or to determine a negotiation position.
• Prepares standard contract documentation (e.g., casefile memo, price analysis, negotiation plan and results) in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Manages shipments and work with QA and Suppliers to resolve any quality discrepancies.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

• 5 years of direct work experience in Procurement / Supply Chain / Inventory Management or related field.
• B/S or B/A Degree preferably in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain, or a related degree and comparable work experience is preferred.

Required/Preferred Experience

• Experience in government contracting/government acquisition a plus.
• Experience in contract negotiations for cost/price, liability, insurance and other critical terms.
• Proficient in: Microsoft Office Products, JIRA, BMCS, MacPac and SAP.
• Ability to articulate both verbally and in writing procurement summaries and any issues associated with the procurement.
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize daily workloads and multi-task in a fast paced environment required.
• Ability to solve problems, manage schedules and adapt to changes.
• Ability to work with others in a teaming environment.
• Ability to build relationships and work effectively with other departments in the organization and external resources.
