Reporting to the Director of Quality, The Senior Quality Engineer will interpret contract specifications, develop and implement procedures to meet quality assurance requirements. They will also plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of work involving other departments as needed
Responsibilities
- Coordinbate all Quality Engineering on any given program, May require interface with all entities of a program. Ensures quality specficiations are met by participating departments
- Participates in weekly IPT calls for specified program
- Participates in the Quality Review Board
- Develops inspection procedures and quality acceptabce standards and assists in the design of gages and test equipment
- Conducts statistical analysis and review, lead and direct the Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities.
- Assists in the development of inspection training programs and training of inspection personnel. Assist and support inspectors, technicians and production personnel
- Provides quality input and data for bid and proposal efforts
- Recommends and assists in the preparation of Capital Appropriation Requests for Quality related capital equipment.
- Performs supplier or vendor source inspections as needed

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Quality or Technology with 5 years of quality engineering experience or related field
- Ability to understand contractual and GD-OTS requirements
- Experience in preparing required technical documentation to customers as needed
- Ability to work with all levels of personnel, ability to present technical information to staff and customers
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work independently and have excellent problem solving abilities
- Technical writing experience preferred
- Broad knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Minimal travel required
