Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking Component Timing Planners who will create and maintain component timing and provide timing status updates, key metric updates (Statement of Requirements/Sourcing, Math Release, Tool Kick Off) during regularly scheduled and Core Product Development Team meetings. Maintain accurate partner names, demographics, and part numbers on assigned component plans. Develop and maintain positive relationships with design release engineers, buyers, validation engineers, and all other PDT partners. As a valuable contributing member of a Product Development Team, you will provide critical feedback loop within our team to Component Template Developers and Architect Leads for the purpose of improving team execution. Engage in special projects and assignments inside and outside our team to prepare for future leadership positions within the organization. Hybrid Work Location: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be onsite as required for key meetings/workshops on a minimal basis.

Additional Job Description

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise of the Global Vehicle Development Process
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office Tools (Excel/PowerPoint/Word, SharePoint)
  • Knowledge of Critical Path Methodology
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and develop creative solutions
  • Familiarity with administrative and engineering systems and tools (ECM, Momentum reports, SharePoint, PRTS, GDIMPs, etc.) used by the PDT and/or GPSC
  • Proficient with conflict management and problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects at one time, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate workgroups and meetings
  • Ability to handle pressure tactfully, gracefully, and respectively raise issues appropriately
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed
  • Ability to hold employees accountable for deliverables and escalate when appropriate
  • Demonstrate managerial courage and display initiative to "take action" to fix problems in support of positive change
  • Emerging partnership and teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in project management
  • Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office Tools (Excel/PowerPoint/Word, SharePoint)
  • GM Purchasing experience
  • Design Release Engineering experience
