The Assistant Administrator collaborates with the building Administrator, offering recommendations and assistance regarding operations and activities, with the shared goal of the efficient operation of the facility.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Administrator Include:
- Support and promote the facility’s philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives
- Contribute to creating an environment conducive to the best interests of the residents and staff
- Assist in hiring qualified staff as well as with the implementation of personnel policies and procedures
- Monitor Accounts Receivable and work with third-party payers
- Perform daily rounds, monitoring cleanliness, repairs and overall appearance of the facility
- Assist with the day-to-day operations including activities, meal service
- Assist with admission inquiries and intake procedures
- Analyze complaints and take appropriate action
- Attend admissions, Department Head, QA and Medicare/Medicaid Pre-planning meetings and others as assigned
- Follow established fire, disaster, safety, infection control and evacuation policies and procedures

Requirements
of the Assistant Administrator:
- Bachelor's degree
- Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, OR,
- At Minimum, have taken a LNHA Training Course and awaiting licensure
- Two years of supervisory experience in Nursing or Nursing Home Administration
- Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH and HFS standards and regulations
- High level of professionalism
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Must have compassion, tolerance and understanding for older adults
