Title: Mine Water Process Engineer
Location: Green River, WY
Key Responsibilities:
Lead development of long-range Westvaco and Granger solution mining plans
Collect and analyze minewater and solution mining data and prepare monthly Granger and Westvaco tailings and minewater reports
Oversight of solution mining pilot(s)
Design, plan, oversee, and execute tailings, solution mining, groundwater, exploration (coring) and all types of well drilling projects.
Primary Process Engineering Team Representative on Westvaco Muds team and Granger Minewater team
Maintain records for cores, well drilling, and wellfield layouts
Select and manage consulting and drilling resources
Coordinate record keeping with Environmental, Project Engineering, and Mine Engineering groups to ensure records meet regulatory and project documentation requirements
Oversee wellfield mechanical integrity program and reporting
Process Engineering / Improvement projects
Activities:
Strong field presence conducting audits for compliance, safety and housekeeping standards
Minewater, tailings, and solution mining planning
Wellfield performance data monitoring, trending, and analysis
Reporting and record keeping
Perform management of change for minewater injection/extraction activities
Assist Mine Engineers with underground well planning and execution
Coordinate with Project Managers to execute projects
Solution mining SME on exploration, quantification, and mapping.
Manage company logging trailer/equipment
Cost estimating for wellfield projects
Safety and hazard reviews
Mentor technical resources in both Technology and Plant departments to grow their site knowledge and technical skills, especially in minewater/solution mining/tailings operations and well drilling.
Surface well drilling project management, including cost control
Ensure projects comply with regulatory requirements
Design, plan, and estimate well drilling projects
Execution of well drilling projects
Wellfield mechanical integrity
Technical improvement projects
Mentor site technical resources
Continuing education and skill building
Skills, Abilities & Educational Requirements:
B.S. in Engineering or related technical degree
2 years of experience in a large-scale industrial environment or in an environment closely related to a large scale industrial
Degree in Petroleum Engineering preferred
Drilling experience preferred
Final determination on pay grade will be made by HR and company leadership holistically considering the candidate’s education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership and influence.
