Position Summary: We are hiring an experienced/skilled porter to join our maintenance team and provide the highest level of service to our residents, guests, and prospects. The job will include minor handy work (i.e. changing light bulbs, replacing blinds and small paint touch-up jobs), cleaning of common areas, apartment turnovers and other duties listed below (not all inclusive):
Please note overtime may be required and the shift may change at any time due to operational needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of assigned building.
- Checks specific areas for debris, cleanliness, and maintenance.
- Clean stairwells.
- Power washing sidewalks.
- Cleaning out compactor.
- Garbage removal.
- Cleaning and preparing apartments for residents (includes lifting and carrying furniture, kitchen appliances, etc.).
- Follows established procedures set by management.
- Maintain regular attendance and highest standards of personal appearance and grooming, in compliance with Genuine’ s standards, as required by the employee handbook.
- Assists Resident Manager as instructed.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Indoor and outdoor hi-rise maintenance environment consisting of, but not limited to, exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, toxic or caustic chemicals, pets, and loud noises.
- Must be able to endure walking, squatting, bending, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crawling and prolonged standing.
- Vision requirements include both close range and long-distance vision.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders and crawl into confined spaces.
- Must be able to utilize power and hand tools.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Applicant must be flexible.
- Detail-oriented, able to multi-task, friendly.
- A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience (preferred).
- Reliable, punctual, and regular in attendance.
- Ability to take direction and work well with others.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time (4-6 hours per shift) and lift tables, chairs, etc.
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week with flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluent in English Language.
