GEO's Academies, Inc.'s model is a student-centered, content-rich K-12 education model that provides a personalized and competency-based approach to learning necessary to close achievement gaps beginning in elementary schools, ensuring middle school students are on at least high school grade level by the summer before 9th grade, and ultimately preparing low-income students to begin college coursework on college campuses as early as 9th grade. By providing an accelerated pathway to college, beginning in kindergarten, GEO schools hope to break the cycle of poverty that is prevalent in the families and communities of the students we serve.

GEO Academies Foundation is seeking a skilled Grants Manager to join our team. The Grants Manager will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to various organizations and foundations. The ideal candidate will have excellent grants writing skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, remain current and compliant with all grants requirements and be able to show a history of successful grants receipts.

Responsibilities:

  • Researches and identifies potential grants opportunities and the criteria to qualify for each
  • Discusses available sources of funding with administrative managers
  • Collaborates with team members to gather necessary information for grant proposals
  • Compiles necessary information for the application process through collaboration with other employees, database research, and other fact finding actions and meetings
  • Drafts and submits grant proposals to various organizations and foundations according to application requirements
  • Ensures grants are submitted timely and within application parameters
  • Maintains accurate records of grant submissions and outcomes
  • Coordinates the monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects that are grants funded
  • Develops and maintains master files on grants and paperwork connected to programs funded by grants
  • Stays up-to-date on grant guidelines and requirements
  • Communicates with funders as needed
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal funding sources and the ability to locate potential sources for funding.
  • Thorough understanding of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of effective grant writing techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Extremely organized and meticulous with details.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and prepare budgets and financial grant reports.
  • Ability to be discreet with personal information that may be needed for some grants such as employee salaries or upcoming projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or related field required
  • Proven experience in grant writing and proposal development required
  • 3 years of grants management experience required
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with grant databases and online resources
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
