What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Assistant Project Manager position at GEOD Corporation?
Role:
GEOD is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our Survey Department based in our office in Newfoundland, NJ. This position does not allow for working remotely. This position requires a proven track record in a project-based, schedule-driven environment. This position reports directly to GEOD’s Principal Land Surveyor.
As a Survey APM, you will occasionally visit project sites. You may be required to work nights and weekends. GEOD provides survey services in NJ, NY and PA, and you will be expected to work on projects in all three states, and other locations as well.
· Responsible for all aspects of the survey process including: technical aspects, staff management, staff scheduling, and playing a key role in identifying and closing new business.
· Requires broad based knowledge of all phases of land surveying including boundary analysis, topography, GPS, 3D laser scanning, and construction layout services.
· Coordinate multiple survey projects involving various survey tasks including estimating and proposal preparation.
· Ability to provide supervision and guidance to field crews and office staff and communicate with client representatives and internal engineering project managers.
· Have the ability to relate to clients and people at all levels of an organization.
· Be accessible and responsive to the needs of clients and fellow staff members.
· Provide billing reports to management, complete invoicing and collections for projects.
· Be committed to the ongoing training and development of the GEOD Survey team.
· Prepare and execute quality control reviews, safety and quality assurance procedures, and the final QC of all survey documents.
· Read, analyze, and interpret drawings and the most complex documents.
· Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, managing all types of survey projects which includes meeting with clients, budget and schedule management and coordinating field staff.
· Must be highly professionally motivated to a high-quality deliverable and possess broad-based knowledge of boundary, topographic, control and construction layout survey practices.
· Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Leica LGO/Infinity, Leica robotic total stations, GPS and data collectors. Experience with Carlson Survey and Starnet least Squares software are desirable.
· Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
· Must be willing to travel within NJ, NY, PA and adjoining states.

Preferences:
· Bachelors or Associates Degree in Geomatics or Land Surveying preferred, but not required
· Experience working in NYC city with NYC agencies or private parties preferred, but not required.
