GEODIS is a global logistics company that is based out of Paris, France. In Independence, MO GEODIS is preparing for a seasonal project where we will be preparing Christmas cards, gift wrapping, and other Christmas product for shipment. The project will run for roughly 4-6 months. There may be opportunities for full time positions after the project is over. Summary
The Seasonal Warehouse Data Entry Clerk is responsible for customer service activities such as responding to inquiries, processing orders, and handling customer complaints and questions in a prompt, courteous and effective manner.
Job Duties
Primary Duties:
- Interacts with customers by phone, email, or in person and receives orders or changes in service
- Processes and inputs all customer orders and receipts. Runs stock reports to check for product availability
- Generates all related paperwork and necessary information required for customer work orders, checks all orders for special requests, and posts inventory records
- Coordinates special, last minute shipping requests with the transportation departments, expediting orders as necessary
- Traces orders as required and notifies customers of any activity concerning their merchandise, including shipping and tracing information
- Assures proper invoicing of accounts by verifying computer generated invoices
- Maintains a good working relationship with customers by responding to all inquiries and complaints concerning receipts, invoices, shipments, inventory counts, etc., in a professional and efficient manner
- Reports customer feedback to GEODIS leadership, including any signs of customer dissatisfaction
- Acts as liaison between the warehouse and the customer in administration of accounts and between the office and customer regarding invoicing and credit changes
- Performs paperwork associated with orders including the maintenance of customer files
- Performs clerical work as required including answering phone calls, operating various office machines and computers, corresponding with customers and greeting customers and visitors in the office
- Maintains current and accurate procedure book which details the processing requirements for each account; prepares any report concerning customer services activities and performs other customer service and company related duties as necessary
- Notifies supervisory team of all requested changes from the customer regarding shipping, handling, or administrative characteristics
- Works with GEODIS leadership regarding product routing for customers
- Other duties as required and assigned by leadership
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
- Minimum 6 months related experience
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- SAP experience is a preferred
- Experience developing and executing schedules

Additional Requirements:
- This is a 4-6 month project. You will not be eligible for benefits for the duration of the project.
- You will be required to come in early and stay late. This is a structured 9 hour shift, with an additional half hour added prior to shift or after the shift is over as operational workflow dictates and business needs require. Schedule subject to change
- Your attendance and participation in meetings and Operations training sessions is mandatory
- Seasonal teammates do not accrue paid time off. You will need to have perfect attendance for the entire length of the project
- No cell phone calls or texting
- You will be required to sign the GEODIS Drug Free Workplace Policy, consenting to random or reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing
- You will be required to sign the GEODIS Personal Appearance and Dress Code Policy, agreeing to abide by our dress code standards. We do not allow hoodies worn over the head or clothing with offensive or sexually suggestive wording or designs. You will be asked to leave the site and change if GEODIS leadership deems your attire inappropriate
- No weapons allowed on the work site or in your vehicle (firearms, knives, pocketknives, etc.)
- No food or drink allowed on the warehouse floor, including offices/cubicles on the floor
- Do not lose or misplace your timecard and do not take it with you when you leave the facility, including lunch and breaks. Your timecard is to remain at the site at all times.
Environment
While performing the duties of this job the teammate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The teammate is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and loud noises and will be working the entirety of the shift in a cave environment.
