JOB DESCRIPTION 
 
JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Operator
 
EMPLOYER: Georg Utz
 
DEPARTMENT: Injection Molding
 
REPORTS TO: Group Leader Operators 
 
EFFECTIVE DATE: 7/7/2021 
 
SUMMARY: This is position is responsible for promoting load and unloading machinery, performing secondary applications and packing finished goods
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Completes secondary operation post molding operations.
  • Visually verifies that products conform to specifications.
  • Assembles, inspections and packaging of production components.
  • Mentions to his supervisor, other production personnel or quality inspectors when problems arise.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Other skills required: 
  • Prior manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Machine operators must have the ability to perform simple tasks for repeatability and must be reliable.
  • Some of the tasks include stacking totes, wrapping skids, laying pallets down, climbing a stepstool, filling out pallet labels, filling out paperwork, adding parts to the tote, inspecting parts, and getting pallets.
  • An operator must also demonstrate ability to produce quality product.
  • Other helpful skills include test and inspection procedures.
  • An effective production operator thinks logically, employs learning strategies but also has the ability to teach others how to do things.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasionally required to talk or hear.

  • Continually works near moving mechanical parts. 
  • Frequently works in high, precarious places. 
  • Continually exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds / frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds / continually lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
