Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) - Division of State Schools is recruiting for a Federal Grants Coordinator. U nder the supervision of the Accounting Financial Services Manager, the Federal Grants Coordinator serves as the liaison between the three State Schools (Atlanta Area School for the Deaf, Georgia Academy for the Blind, and Georgia School for the Deaf) and the GaDOE's Federal Programs Division and Grants Accounting staff.

Description of Duties
- Serve as the liaison between the three State Schools and the GaDOE's Federal Programs Division and Grants Accounting staff
- Coordinate and facilitating effective communication and collaboration between the three State Schools and the GaDOE's Federal Programs Division and Grants Accounting staff
- Support the three State Schools in ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices related to the GaDOE's Federal Programs Division and Grants Accounting staff
- Collaborate with stakeholders within the three State Schools to develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness related to completing grant projects and initiatives involving the GaDOE's Federal Programs Division and Grants Accounting staff
- Support stakeholders within the three State Schools to effectively manage budgetary and financial processes, including budget development / monitoring / reporting and procurement and contracting processes and procedures, related to completing projects and assignments involving the GaDOE's Federal Programs Division and Grants Accounting staff
- Collaborate effectively with staff in other Central Office Units (e.g., Curriculum & Instruction, Support Services, Operations, and Outreach) to support the three State Schools
- Collaborate with school and system-level stakeholders to develop and submit the CLIP
- Create budgets for all federal grants with line items that are aligned to the CLIP and allowable in accordance with federal guidelines
- Collaborate with school and system-level stakeholders to complete and submit budget amendments for federal grants
- Meet regularly with the Budget & Finance Manager to reconcile federal grant balances
- Manage the system-level on-line TITLE I Crate file depository system
- Serve as the point person for Cross Functional Monitoring
- Assist school-level staff with travel authorizations and expense reports for any travel using federal funds
- Attend GaDOE federal grants professional learning events
- Perform other duties as assigned
This is a remote / telework position based in Downtown Atlanta. Some statewide travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications :
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following :
- Experience using the Consolidated Application platform for federal grants
- Experience completing budget amendments
- Experience aligning budgets with needs analysis data to meet program goals and objectives
- Experience reconciling budgets
- Experience using the online Crate file depository system
- Experience preparing for Cross Functional Monitoring
- Experience apply for grants
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Title I, IDEA, and ESSER
- Experience preparing for budget audits
- Experience using Excel
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively using American Sign Language (ASL)
- Possess a strong command of written English

Bachelor's degree in business / public administration, finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience in grant management, public funds administration;
or Six (6) years of job-related experience in grants management, public funds administration, or accounting; or One year of experience at the lower level Grants Spec 2 (FIP051) or equivalent position.
