Georgia Pacific is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support Georgia-Pacific's Building Products Innovation Center in Decatur, GA (just outside of Atlanta, GA). The Laboratory Assistant is a support role that will assist in the development and improvement of our product offerings. Assignments typically are in the areas of routinely making and testing laboratory samples and testing materials to develop and improve our products.


What You Will Do:

  • Manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks in an organized and timely manner
  • Weigh raw materials to make laboratory scale samples
  • Follow SOPs to conduct routine testing to characterize materials/ prototypes and evaluate their properties
  • Record Weights


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma with one (1) or more years' laboratory experience OR an Associate's degree in a science or technical discipline
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to ensure regular attendance
  • Willing and able to work in a hybrid laboratory and shop environment

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience weighing chemicals with balances
  • Experience using power tools (i.e. table saw, miter saw, hand drill, etc.)
