IT Technician Full-Time

IT Technician

IT Technician is responsible of setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting the technology systems that Gerrity’s Supermarkets uses to maintain computer and software networks. The IT Technician will work under the IT Specialist and assist them with any IT-related requests throughout Gerrity’s Supermarkets and Gerrity’s Ace Hardware.  Duties also include responding to hardware problems, updating system software, and tracking the data and communications used on the Company network.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with technical difficulties at store locations designated by the IT Specialist.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain hardware and software components to ensure the smooth running of computer systems and other store electronics. 
• Install and configure computer hardware and being a point of contact for IT support within the company.
• Ensure PCI compliance, and security of data communication and storage.
• Assisting staff with hardware and software challenges.
• Maintain remote support to all locations and in-person support whenever necessary. 
• Maintain a regular presence in all locations as necessary to inspect the condition of all information technology.
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Ensuring electrical safety standards are met.
• Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.
• Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
• Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
• Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
• Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
• Conducting daily backup operations.
• Managing technical documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred. 
• Prior experience in Information Technology or related field.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license & ability to travel.
• At least 18 years of age or older.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication ability, both written and verbal.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.
