Monitor and evaluate associates competencies on the production floor. Work closely with each new hire and existing operators to ensure work instructions are being followed. Work with Team Leaders and Group Leaders to support training and cross training as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Train “hands on” new production operators hired within your department.
Ensure production is being met within the first 1-2 weeks of hire or as soon as possible using captor reports.
Monitor new hires for the first 3 months. Daily – 1st week. Weekly – 1st month. Monthly – 2nd and 3rd month.
Work closely with HR Trainer to determine bench strength for every job and is maintained.
Report weekly the training activities to the trainer on the GGL application.
Lead cross training efforts with “hands on” training of existing associates.
Ensure all operators are trained and understand the work instructions/video before operating machine/job.
Evaluate the ability and work ethic of the operator within the first week.
Follow new colleagues through job shadowing and OJT individually.
Audit training effectiveness utilizing training processes and work instructions on prescribed basis.
Talk with each operator daily to ensure acceptable knowledge until competency is attained.
Input, and evaluate competencies on training matrices – alerting HR Trainer of any discrepancies.
Offer continuous improvement ideas to improve training and methods.
Ensure work instructions are current when changes are made to production process.
Able to train and move on all shifts as needed/required.
Any other duties assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate.
Knowledge and Education
High School education and diploma (or GED equivalent)
Verifiable experience training others in processes and work instructions, both in classroom and hands-on.
Previous employment in a manufacturing environment.
Good understanding of Gestamp manufacturing processes, policies and procedures.
Key Qualifications and Education
Verbal communication in a classroom setting
Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
Must have the technical skills necessary to perform production jobs
Computer proficiency in all MS Office programs

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
