What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at GESTRA?
Position Summary:
Performs the tasks involved in the receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies, and/or equipment using the Spirax Sarco Inventory System.
Essential (Major) Job Functions
- Accurately receives inbound materials by verifying kind, count and condition of material received against purchase orders or invoices, bringing discrepancies in the order to the attention of supervision.
- Ensures system transactions match the physical movements
- Prepares components for storage from receiving dock. Puts materials received into storage locations in preparation for use. Picks shop orders and replenishes Kanbans ensuring that the manufacturing process has the parts it needs.
- Picks customer orders from the Stores area and packs the orders in a manner that ensures accuracy and protects the product from damage during shipment.
Other Job Functions
- Ability to read packing lists, pick lists, shop orders to determine order numbers, part numbers and applicable quantity. Demonstrates critical thinking to trouble shoot variances.
- Accountable and responsible for all safety and environmental compliance as it relates to the position.
- Demonstrates knowledge of general safety, security, and environmental regulations.
- Adheres to 6S objectives
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent
Experience:
One (1) – two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Specialized Skills:
- Basic computer skills with ability to quickly learn industry specific software.
- Experience with Demand Flow Technology (DFT) manufacturing a plus.
- Experience using Forklift; Forklift Certified preferred.
Certifications:
Forklift Certification preferred.
