Join Our Multi-Media Advertising Sales Team
Are you a dynamic, self-motivated, and energetic professional with a passion for sales and digital marketing? We are an innovative, independent media company based in the Bay Area, publishing 17 community and alternative weeklies across eight counties, along with specialty magazines, digital media services, and events.
We are currently seeking a Sales Manager to lead our team and represent a line of digital marketing products and local publications that influence where people shop, find entertainment, and spend their leisure time.
About The Role
As a Sales Manager, you will lead a team of Account Executives, helping local and regional businesses attract new customers while supporting local journalism. You will also work directly with key clients and organizations to develop new opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Development: Hire, develop, coach, and train a sales team to achieve personal, team, and company sales goals.
Sales Meetings: Conduct weekly sales meetings and monthly training sessions with sales staff.
Advertising Programs: Guide the sales team to create and present effective advertising programs to decision-makers.
Revenue Goals: Achieve team revenue goals and other personal objectives.
Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as required by senior management.
What We're Looking For
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in sales and 2 years in advertising management with proven success in team revenue growth and customer relationship management.
Media Sales: Experience in media sales or related fields is required.
Skills: Strong transactional and consultative selling skills, coaching, and training abilities. Digital sales and management experience are highly desired.
Leadership: Experience leading in-person and hybrid sales teams, managing events, and promotions.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and familiarity with web metrics and digital marketing.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency with standard business productivity tools (email, teleconferencing, spreadsheets, presentation software).
Territory Management: Proven experience in managing sales territories.
Communication: Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
Relationship Building: Outstanding relationship-building skills with high responsiveness and integrity.
