We are currently seeking a (Remote) Agent Mortgage Loan Officer, based in various locations including Tysons, Virginia; Alexandria, Virginia; Richmond, Virginia; Annapolis, Maryland; or Ocean City West, Maryland. In this role, you will respond to mortgage inquiries and referrals from both personal contacts and other business channels at our organization. You will engage with prospective borrowers, analyzing their financial and credit data, identifying their financing needs, advising on product options, and gathering necessary information.
Key Responsibilities
Actively seek new residential mortgage opportunities and promote mortgage products to achieve established quality and production targets.
Build and maintain a strong network of realtors and member relationships to enhance mortgage business growth through effective sales strategies.
Represent in the marketplace, researching industry best practices and competitive strategies to improve sales effectiveness and meet member needs.
Develop expertise in Conventional, VA, and FHA lending policies and procedures.
Provide expert mortgage advice to members, explaining various loan products and guiding them through pricing policies and guidelines.
Ensure exceptional member service by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, adhering to compliance policies such as the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA).
Utilize technology and designated programs to manage loan documentation requirements and ensure timely completion of all conditions and closing dates.
Maintain regular communication with realtors and members throughout the loan process, managing expectations with professionalism and urgency.
Identify and address any issues that may impact meeting established conditions and timelines promptly.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; a college degree is preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in residential mortgage lending, with a focus on self-sourced business preferred.
Strong understanding of mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
Familiarity with Conventional, FHA, and VA lending guidelines.
Knowledge of Federal Regulations governing Real Estate Lending.
Work Environment
This role primarily operates in an indoor office setting with moderate noise levels.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel to various work sites and on-call availability may be required.
