A Medical Receptionist performs a number of duties, including greeting and scheduling patients, answering and routing calls, making transactions and verifying medical coverage and benefits. Medical Receptionists must interact frequently with patients, medical professionals and supervisors, meaning they have excellent communication skills and be personable.
Responsibilities
- Acting as a liaison with patients and providers in a compassionate and kind manner
- Making appointments, collecting co-pays, and providing receipt of money in accordance with established procedures
- Tending to client forms
- Addressing patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
- Ensuring the waiting and reception areas are kept neat and clean; reporting on any damage
- Responsible for insurance verifications with health insurance organizations
Skills
- Skills in multi-line phone systems preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request
- Knowledgeable of medical terminology and insurance products and plans
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Receptionist
- High School Diploma required, A.S. Degree in healthcare/related field preferred

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekends

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
- Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
