Human Resources Intern

The HR Intern will assist in a variety of functions within Human Resources including DEI, recruitment. onboarding, and communications. The HR Intern will focus their time based on business needs.  This could require performing the assisting with the ideation of DEI strategies, coordinating interviews, screening candidates, participating in and providing feedback to enhance orientation, and developing a variety of HR content.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works with the HR Team to develop strategies and plans in support of business goals and objectives.
• Generating ideas to improve efficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities. 
• Review DEI strategy and content, making recommendations for continuous improvement
• Administer the coordination of internal candidate vetting process and scheduling phone and video interviews.
• Review, assess, evaluate, and improve onboarding procedures including candidate communication cadence, orientation, and new hire paperwork.
• Provide feedback on candidate interviews and make recommendations on next steps.

Required Skills:

• Major in business or related field
• Creative thinking
• Excellent written and verbal communication 
• Advanced use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint 

The Giant Food intern program is intended to create a beneficial relationship and growth opportunity for Giant and the collegiate students in our local communities we serve.

As a Giant Food Intern, you will:

• Gain real business and professional experience in corporate environment
• Deliver work presentation to the Giant Food Operating Committee
• Develop leadership and professional skills via Learning & Development offerings
• Participate in community and/or company sponsored events
• Attend team building, networking events and sporting events and other extracurricular opportunities
• Get paired with mentor to help guide professional journey
• Receive college credit through their institution
• Work full-time, M-F, 8-5 from June 3rd to August 9th
• Get paid $20/hr with a weekly paycheck!
