Job Summary:

Girl Scouts of Northern California (GSNorCal) is seeking an energetic organizer who thrives in a multi-faceted team- based and customer-focused work environment.   The Product Program Manager will be joining one of the most recognized and beloved brands in the country, playing a critical role enabling girls to learn vital entrepreneurial skills.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Program, this position provides front-line recruiting, development and support to volunteers, ensuring a positive experiences for troops, Girl Scouts and customers participating in the GSNorCal Product Programs.  The Manager also helps assess the program’s performance and develops improvements to enhance results.  

The ideal candidate is comfortable with taking initiative, must be highly organized, and have relationship-building expertise. In addition, they must be skilled in managing and analyzing data along with learning and mastering computer platforms and databases.  Approximately 60% of the Manager’s time will be spent on volunteer relations, 20% on project management and 20% on data integrity/analysis.

This position is offered at $62,400 (annually) with Medical, Dental, Vision, and Retirement benefits.


Job Accountabilities:

  • Support financial growth, volunteer satisfaction, and Girl Scout youth participation by providing high quality customer service via relationship building with both internal and external customers
  • Promote the Girl Scout entrepreneurial experience and its lifetime benefits
  • Recruit, mentor, develop and collaborate with volunteer teams to execute the product programs within assigned geographic areas
  • Facilitate and engage various Girl Scout and volunteer advisory committee members in helping to fortify and enhance each year's product programs
  • Develop, train, model and facilitate conflict management, interpersonal and dispute resolution skills for all product volunteers within assigned geographic areas
  • Assist the Senior Director in developing product program council-wide strategy by encouraging open communication, creating guidelines and criteria for program development and success, analyzing data and measuring outcomes, assessing community needs, and collaborating with volunteers and staff to ensure program relevancy
  • Design, create and develop volunteer training guides, content for eLearning modules and content for promotional marketing materials related to product programs
  • Project manage product program operations including contract negotiation, management of vendors, building and tracking budgets, anticipating program obstacles, scheduling challenges, and ensuring an overall positive experience for program participants and volunteers
  • Manage all logistics of the product programs – including management of delivery agents, management of product cupboards, and material and product distribution and collection
  • Manage all aspects of reward programs, including the selection of rewards and planning and execution of engaging reward events and experiences

Essential Qualifications:

  • Able to work from home and assigned territory
  • Able to work pre-scheduled evenings and weekends
  • Minimum three years of related experience performing customer service and/or sales functions in a business or  educational and/or nonprofit organization
  • A minimum of one year of direct volunteer or volunteer support experience
  • High attention to detail; Completes tasks thoroughly with an eye for detail and attention to accuracy
  • Strong interest in understanding and creating safe spaces that empower our youth members (K-12) and volunteers in diverse communities
  • Ability to set priorities, re-prioritize on a daily basis, multi‐task and meet deadlines in a fast‐paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently; Must be self-motivated to complete tasks and ask for support when needed
  • Technical computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher) or comparable software (Google Suite, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.), Customer Relationship Management systems such as: Salesforce or Zoho-Bigin
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and database-type applications
  • Able to pass GSNorCal background check; Valid Driver's License, access to use of a reliable car, and proof of car insurance
