Part Time Help Desk Technician  

 
The Help Desk Technician is a part time role that is responsible to provide excellent customer service and technical support for Council staff with efficiency and accuracy.  This position reports to the IT Systems and Support Manager.  In this role, the Help Desk Technician duties will include assisting with support of hardware and software,  managing technical equipment for meetings and events, testing and deployment of computers and laptops, maintaining Council technology inventory, and assisting with creation/maintenance of user accounts.  This person will be expected to work independently to address helpdesk questions and issues, escalate issues when needed, and assist with monitoring Council performance dashboards.  

Requirements:
Education:  This is an entry level position. High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college, administrative experience, or technology experience preferred.  Technology certification or related experience a plus.
Other:  
  • Must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Must have basic knowledge of MS Office software and Operating systems. 
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must have ability to work from home, as needed, to include high speed home internet access, accessibility to a non-distracting and uninterrupted space with adequate lighting and ergonomically adequate work-space.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license, proof of insurance.
