Member Recruitment Specialist

Location: City of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh East

Remote: While this position is considered remote, the individual must live in and will frequently travel throughout their coverage area.

· Temporary position from September to mid-November

· Part-time hours working 18-20 hours per week

· Hourly rate: $20.50

Position Description:

As a Member Recruitment Specialist, you will help generate excitement about and increase awareness of Girl Scouting. You will work within your community to build visibility of Girl Scouts and promote the Girl Scout experience to generate leads and support membership growth.

The essential functions of this position include the following:

· Positively impact membership growth by engaging in the community, working with schools, school districts, faith-based institutions, businesses, etc. and cultivate community contacts to educate on the Girl Scout curriculum and generate leads resulting in membership growth.

· Promote the Girl Scout mission by hosting recruitment events in designated areas: including in-person meetings, back to school and troop sign up nights, presentations, and networking opportunities.

· Work with and support volunteer recruiters in assigned area to ensure coordinated recruitment efforts, consistent approach and messaging from volunteers on the Girl Scout mission.

· Identify marketing, advertising, and public relations opportunities that will effectively and efficiently promote the Girl Scout brand and enhance recruitment efforts.

· Help to ensure Girl Scouting is open to all girls.

Requirements:

· Girl Scouts experience encouraged, but not required

· Girl Scout volunteers are encouraged to apply

· Comfortable speaking to large groups

· Have reliable transportation

· Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned area

· Willing to work primarily evenings and some weekend hours

· Some experience in marketing or sales or a related field of work is preferred
