Description
The Mobile Program Specialist creates programmatic experiences for both current and potential Girl Scout members and volunteers rooted in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
The Mobile Program Specialist ensures the implementation of the council strategy with a focus on the consistent leadership development experience for girl members.
The candidate for this position will be required to travel around the surrounding areas for in-person events 4-5 times a week, including nights and weekends.
Day In The Life :
- Administer and deliver mobile programming from assigned Mobile Program Vehicle to increase engagement and retention of girl members and adult troop leaders.
- Plans, develops, administers, and evaluates the implementation of quality programs through resources and our mobile program offerings.
- Work with other mobile team members to plan marketing strategies to ensure the increased participation of Girl Scout members and non-Girl Scout members in events and program initiatives.
- Models appropriate program delivery skills and practices by providing support to troop leaders in delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
- Ensures that the GSLE is accessible to all girl members throughout our 41 counties. The mobile program helps ensure program opportunities and training support gets delivered across the council's footprint in alignment with council goals and strategic initiatives.
- Develops and maintain a risk management plan for all mobile program operations and ensure compliance with all safety standards and policies are followed in accordance with GSUSA and state and local laws and health regulations.
- Implements an evaluation system to measure the impact of programming on girls in relation to outcomes identified in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and specific program content.
Reviews and analyzes data and feedback, then make necessary modifications and alignment to strategic priorities.
- Keeps abreast of trends and issues in the community affecting girls, volunteers, and council services and ensures that these trends and voices of girls are part of program delivery efforts following GUSA and GSNCCP requirements related to the program department and council.
- Works collaboratively with other Council department teams to achieve the Council's fund development and membership goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Must be able to effectively build and work with volunteers and surrounding community of diverse backgrounds
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities with competing deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
- Detail oriented and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be proficient in speaking before groups.
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle and have the ability to travel; proof of meeting North Carolina state requirements regarding vehicle registration and inspection, driver's license, and liability insurance.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move a minimum of 25 pounds.

- Must be willing to obtain a GSUSA membership ($25 annually) upon employment and commitment to the mission and goals of Girl Scouting.
