We are hiring an HR Specialist!
The HR Specialist will work under the direction of the Human Resources Business Partner. By managing compliance, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining clear communication, this position ensures a positive and supportive experience for all staff members, ultimately improving overall satisfaction and retention rates. This role is critical in enhancing the onboarding experience for both contractors and W-2 employees, directly contributing to a smooth and efficient process.

\n- The HR Specialist will be integral in promoting the Giving HEART: humility, empathy, advocacy, respect, & teamwork!
- Manage the contractor rate increase request process (contract amendments)
- Answer payroll-related questions and respond to emails from employees and contractors.
- Serve as backup for HR Onboarder
- Conduct new hire orientation for contractors and employees both in-person and virtual.
- Participate in staffing team meetings to update on onboarding statuses.
- Screen contractor calls and escalate issues to the HR Business Partner (HRBP) when necessary.
- Responsible for holding in-person discussions to guide contractors through onboarding requirements, including Background Checks, in-person CPR classes, and any HR related concerns.
- Monitor compliance documents such as licenses and certifications.
- Assist with Care Academy corrections, ensuring the correct curriculum is assigned to contractors.
- Monitor Care Academy progress to ensure completion before in-person training.
- Upload HR documents into Document Manager profiles, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Input 1099 contractor information into Smartsheets.
- Verifying and collecting employment documentation including I-9 forms and direct deposit information for processing.
- Conduct bi-weekly touchpoints with contractors and employees via phone, email, text, or in person.
- Make welcome calls to new caregivers, ensuring they feel supported and informed, upon completion of the Onboarding process
- Assist caregivers with IGEA (charting platform) log-in issues and provide necessary support.
- Troubleshoot UKG (HIRS system) log-in issues, particularly for contractors.
- Assist with rotational coverage of the reception area.
- Serve as a backup for Operations by monitoring and ordering office supplies as needed.
- Handle additional Operations duties when the primary Ops contact is unavailable.
- 1 to 3 years of Human Resources experience preferred.
