About the Role
As the Senior Systems Engineer at Glassdoor, you will be responsible for many of Glassdoor’s core IT infrastructure systems. You will be a member of a small team with wide reach and exposure to a variety of outstanding technologies. Teams across Glassdoor will rely on your technical skill to aid in the design and operation of production and service infrastructure. What You’ll Do
- Ideate, design, and deploy creative solutions to solve sophisticated problems, improve efficiency, and build an outstanding experience for our employees
- Build and manage cloud-based application and corporate IT service infrastructure
- Serve as Tier-3 level support for Mac and Windows endpoint fleet, responsible for system maintenance, tracking, and troubleshooting Mac devices and adding automation to administer the macOS and Windows environment
- Analyze network performance to determine inefficiencies and problems
- Build / implement and administer tools and automation to improve efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks
- Work closely with the Information Security team to secure our environment and protect our brand
- Design comprehensive monitoring strategy for corporate infrastructure
- Manage and optimize log aggregation platforms
- Support day-to-day operations for production services and participate in on-call rotations for security incident and outage response
- Evaluate hardware and software solutions and participate in projects within the team
- Assure the availability and uptime of corporate infrastructure systems
- Evaluate, define, implement, and manage emerging technologies that align to Glassdoor’s technology strategy
- Act as a point of escalation for our support team and play a role in their technical development
What You’ll Bring
- A commitment to add to our culture of DEI
- Solid knowledge of network technology and protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, BGP, IPsec, RADIUS). Experience with Palo Alto Networks, Meraki huge plus.
- Extensive experience with Amazon Web Services and managing cloud infrastructure
- Experience managing collaboration and productivity platforms (G-Suite, Microsoft 365, Slack)
- Experience with many different Amazon Web Service technologies such as AWS Systems Manager, GuardDuty, Workspaces, and AWS networking concepts like VPCs, Security groups, and Transit Gateways
- Expert in Linux or Windows server OS’s, working knowledge of both
- Automation using scripting languages like Python or PowerShell
- Configuration management using platforms like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Familiarity with Active Directory
- Experience managing Atlassian servers such as Jira or Confluence is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary Range*: $116k - $174k
- Glassdoor base salaries are targeted to the market 75th percentile for technical roles and the 65th percentile for non-technical roles. In other words, 65-75% of comparable organizations in our industry will pay less.
Annual Bonus Target**: 10%
**Bonuses are paid in 6-month intervals, aligning with bi-annual performance reviews
