International business experience in low volume/high mix environment with a demonstrated ability to deliver business results is required.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProcurement & Production Control FunctionDirectly manage buyers and production control analysts responsible for tactically scheduling and releasing work to internal and external material suppliersDefine, manage, and improve the process(es) for procurement and shop order release andmanagement within the SAP business system environmentProvide supplier performance feedback to commodity management functionExecute the tactical disposition of excess and obsolete inventoryEnsure effective communication and escalation between internal and external suppliersregarding demand needs and material availability dataDefine and execute strategic projects aimed at reduction of touch-time and increase inaccuracy associated with procurement and production data within the SAPbusiness systemEstablish, maintain, and ensure meaningful performance management and continuousimprovement cycles within procurement and production control functionsWarehousing FunctionDirectly manage Logistics Supervisor, ensuring timely and accurate material picking andshipment activitiesAnticipate warehouse activity load by coordinating communication between Tooling, Service, Specialized Gear Services, and Machine product lines to ensure personnel scheduling alignmentDefine and execute strategic projects aimed at improving material picking efficiency and accuracyEstablish, maintain, and improve processes for warehouse 5s optimizationDefine and execute strategic projects aimed at efficiency improvement of material flow and reduction of invested assetsEstablish, maintain, and ensure meaningful performance management and continuous improvement cycles within the warehousing functionLogistics FunctionDirectly manage Logistics Supervisor, ensuring timely and efficient inbound and outboundlogistics performanceChampion an internal working knowledge of international shipping, INCO Terms, and associated subject matter for service, project management, sales, and supply chain personnelWorking with commodity management functions, analyze and propose structure and content for commercial agreements for freight forwarder and parcel providersEstablish and ensure effectiveness of internal and external communication on status of shipmentsChampion and internal working knowledge of current international duty, freight, and US export/import complianceEstablish and maintain processes to maximize duty drawback for exported goodsEstablish, maintain, and ensure meaningful performance management and continuous improvement cycles within the logistics functionREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE5 years of experience in duties including procurement, warehousing, and logistics responsibilitiesDemonstrated international shipping and logistics experienceBachelor’s degree in business, technical, or associated degreeDirect experience in establishing and ensuring adherence to departmental budgets and forecastsPREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMasters of Business Administration DegreeDemonstrated experience utilizing SAP ERP system for purchasing and inventory control activitiesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge of supervisory practices and principlesKnowledge of management and distribution for a major warehouse/stores operationAbility to develop and facilitate self-directed teamsTeam leadership/facilitation skills in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on problem solvingExcellent organizational skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsStrong computer, data collection, and analysis skillsMANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT:PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that would need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job in an office environment.
