TECHNOLOGY HARDWARE REPAIR TECHNICIAN

Position: Technology Support Technician
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with/repairing information technology equipment.
High School diploma or equivalent with computer and electronic training required.
A certified, MCSE Certification preferred, not required.
Essential Function:
Ability to organize and manage hardware parts/components of various sizes
Physical ability to set up and take down equipment
Ability to troubleshoot and repair technology hardware and software issues
Ability to lift at significant weight – minimum of 1 pound up to 100 pounds
Ability to climb ladders to run cabling as needed or troubleshoot security cameras
Reports To: Director of Technology
Consults With: IT Staff, GCSD Administration and Faculty
Position Goal: To provide timely, cost-effective technical support throughout the school district.
Performance Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibility: Troubleshoot, repair and maintain student and teacher devices and other technology equipment including networked and stand-alone computer systems
Secondary responsibilities: software and hardware setup, installation, maintenance, diagnostics, replacement and upgrades
Repair Technology devices
Work with computer users to assess problems and provide timely solutions
Communicate in a clear and professional manner, at the users’ various technical levels
.Assist with computer inventory records, maintain an accurate inventory of spare technology parts and suggest supply orders
Document software licenses, warranties, maintenance, and repair on computer specification records
Establish and maintain user accounts on end user machines and labs for a secure network environment
Provide technical support for all information technology equipment and other devices; make repairs when possible and recommend and/or arrange outside repairs when appropriate
Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting Local Area and Wide Area Network
Setup and configuration district PC’s for the DHCP network
Have an understanding of all IT department procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Terms of Employment: Twelve-month position. Wage schedules shall be subject to annual review and modification by the Glenwood Board of Education.
Evaluations: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Classified Staff Evaluation.
