Responsibilities
GLOTECH, Inc. is seeking Mechanics / Shipfitters to join our team in San Diego, CA. These roles will require working onboard various class U.S. Navy ships.
- Performs layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, operation, modification, repair, and testing of components, materials and equipment.
- Inspects assemblies and installations for conformance with specifications, using measuring instruments such as tape measurer, calipers, scales and micrometer.
- Sets up and operates soldering and welding equipment to join metal parts.
- Support removal and installation of foundations, cabling & cableways, equipment, sheet metal, ventilation systems, housings and a variety of C5I system components and their sub-systems.
- Fabricates and assembles new or modified components or assemblies.
- Evaluates the form, fit and function of components and equipment for adherence to project objectives.
- Participates in special projects as required.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job.
Qualifications
- High school diploma and a minimum of one year related experience.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, written or oral instructions, and other technical documents.
- Must have the basic tools of the trade.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred.
