Job Title: SPRI (Shipping, Packaging, Receiving, & Inventory) Supervisor
Reporting: Production Manager
Major Focus: Under the guidance and direction of the Production Manager, manages the day-to-day
operations of SPRI (Shipping, Packaging, Receiving, Inventory) ensuring process efficiency and quality is
maintained for every shipment.

Specific Responsibilities/Tasks
1. SPRI Supervision/Management
A. Supervise SPRI Team
1. Shipping
2. Receiving
3. Packaging
B. Monitor & direct movement of raw materials and finished goods throughout GLW
Operations (Mound & Highland Park).
C. Shipping & Transportation
1. Direct GLW logistics to support efficient shipping to customers (FTL, LTL, Carrier
Shipments)
2. Work with Production Management to coordinate the movement of raw
materials, WIP, outsourced, and subcontracted goods between vendors and GLW
facilities (GLW trucks and vans).
3. Resolve discrepancies between shipping, finance, and client management
(packing slips vs invoices).
D. Work to ensure that SPRI operates in a cost-efficient manner such as to be a profit center
for the GLW Operations
1. Assist Operations Management with making warehousing decisions and coming
up with possible alternatives (e.g., bulk buying raw materials, batch runs,
advanced production of finished goods – how and where to store these things,
how to make the best use of GLW square footage and rack space)
2. Work with Client Management (sales, estimating, and project management) to
ensure GLW’s costs of transportation and storage are appropriately accounted for
in contract pricing and terms
E. Finished Goods Inventory: work with the Inventory Lead and other Team Members to implement packing lists and processes that improve packaging, tracking, storage,
shipment, and ultimately billing for both WIP and finished goods
2. SPRI Administration
A. Creating and updating Packing Lists.
B. Receiving and Inventory:
1. Ensure all incoming materials are properly receipted into SAGE and physically
stored in a way that support efficient retrieval
2. Work with Inventory Lead to guarantee that any inventory items issued to
production are captured in SAGE
3. Facilitate problem solving between Receiving/Inventory and Purchasing
(quantity discrepancies, item availability, returns to vendors, shipment refusals)
Key Interactions
1. Project Management – coordinate with PMs daily & in weekly PM|Shipping Huddle to:
A. Verify flight board accuracy
B. Solve any shipping related issues
C. Identify any unique upcoming requirements
2. Estimating/Sales
A. Provide estimates on workload requirements (hours, packaging, freight) for quotes as required
3. Production
A. Participate in weekly Operations Meeting to coordinate status of shipments for jobs in production
B. Works with Production Management to coordinate the movement of raw materials,
WIP, outsourced, and subcontracted goods between vendors and GLW facilities.
4. Purchasing
A. Facilitates problem solving between Receiving/Inventory and Purchasing (quantity
discrepancies, item availability, returns to vendors, shipping refusals).
5. Operations

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
