What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Miner position at GMS Mine Repair?
GMS is Hiring Experienced Underground Hard Rock Miners for several locations in Montana!!!
This position has a wide responsibility of coverage, so candidates must be willing to travel (Per Diem is offered with acceptance of position). You will be working in a narrow vein underground mine environment and this is a long-term temporary to hire position.
Pay Rate:
-$32.50 per hour
- Hourly Bonus!!!
- $120 per day per diem (GMS Employees)
Shift:
-5 days on/ 4 days off
Location:
-Big Timber, MT
Position Duties
· Takes ownership in and accountable for maintaining safe work practices, safe workplaces, and safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
· Performs drilling, blasting, mucking, and bolting duties.
· Determines the amount of explosives, placement, and firing of explosives with the ability to minimize over break and dilution.
· Operates underground equipment (jumbos, loaders, bolters, jacklegs, CMAC DHS bolters, trucks, and Slusher).
· Performs other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of the company.
· Maintain line & grade for development ramps and drifts.
· Takes ownership in muck handling to eliminate muck mixing and ensure delivery of quality ore to the concentrator.
· Work as an essential member of a production or development team.
Requirements & Qualifications
· 2-3 years Muckers Experience
· 2-3 years Jumbo Drill Experience
· At least 3 years Previous Jackleg Experience (Required)
· 2-3 years Blasting Experience
· 3-5 years of Underground Hard Rock Mining Experience
· Must meet and maintain qualifications for working with explosives per the Safe Explosives Act.
· Working knowledge of utilities, services, and ventilation including installation, use, and salvage of systems.
