What are the responsibilities and job description for the Smog Technician position at Gold Star Buick GMC?
- In addition to smog and emission related issues, conduct minor repairs such as water pumps, fuel pumps, filters replacements, etc. Accomplish and maintain a high level of efficiency. Provide complete and accurate neatly written descriptions of diagnosis, repair, and maintenance performed on the workshop copy of the repair order assigned. Road test all repairs to ensure repaired correctly the first time. Properly fill out an estimate sheet on all necessary repairs and note additional repairs necessary and/or anycondition that may require special explanation to the customer. Maintain standards for ethical business practices, professional image, orderliness, customer service, and good employee and community relations. Take all possible precautions to insure the safety and health of you and others. Maintain a clean and orderly facility and work area. Maintain cleanliness of all vehicles assigned to repair. Maintain a good working relationship with all other personnel. Other duties include: participating in company meetings, attending trainings, etc
Qualifications: Current valid state of California Smog License
ASE Certification preferred but not required.
Neat appearance. Work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work with co-workers and management.
Able to diagnose repairs needed on automobiles.
Able to perform repairs and maintenance on automobiles.
Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Able to read schematics.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Able to operate all company equipment needed to perform required tasks.
Be dependable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
