What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Manager position at Goldfinch Estates?
Key Accountabilities
- Appropriately communicates with resident and/or resident families.
- Develops and maintains activities and social programming that is reflective of the residents’ needs and interests.
- Leads activity groups, including exercise classes.
- Must be compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.
- Reports any resident changes to the Nursing staff.
- Responsible to meet requirements of state, federal, and other regulatory entities as they relate to activities.
- Supervises the activities programming provided by all personnel.
- Assists residents with developing interpersonal relationships, socializing effectively, and developing the confidence needed to participate in group activities.
- Assists other departments with special events and family functions.
- Promotes independence with residents by offering choices and fostering self-help skills.
- Maintains and reports proper documentation of efforts as requested.
- May be asked to create budgetary standards for all activities within the community.
- Monitors and adheres to budgets as established by the Executive Director.

Orders and maintains supplies needed for activities.
Requirements
- Follows all policies and procedures
- Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be able to relate information concerning residents’ condition.
- Must have a valid non-restricted driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action.
- Must receive a "not disqualified" criminal background result and may not be on the OIG exclusions list.
- Stays up to date on all required training.
- Understands and adheres to the Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy. Is familiar with the Resident’s Bill of Rights and adheres to it.
- Complies with state and Federal HIPAA requirements.
Experience
Preferred- 2 year(s): At least 2 years of experience working with seniors.
Education
Preferred- High School or better
