Service Writer

Golf Car Ranch in Hawkins & Longview, TX is looking for two service writers to join our 18-person strong team. We are located at 3490 South Fm 2869 Hawkins & 3404 N Fourth Street, Longview.

Golf Car Ranch is the premier golf cart dealer and repair facility in Northeast Texas area. We are an Authorized Club Car & ICON EV Dealer. We are currently looking for Service Writers that can take our service department to the next level!

The Service Writer position provides value to the dealership by being the liaison between Customer and Service Technicians. This position directly affects the customer experience through the quality and expediency of his or her work product that reflects directly-on the dealership.

Responsibilities

Customer Service

*Maintains a neat and professional appearance. *Create and strengthen relationships with customers by creating a customer-centric experience. *Assist all customers in need, regardless of department (sales, service, or parts). *Maintain a tidy workspace. *Inform management of customer service opportunities. *Enhances organization by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.

Job Requirements

*Initiates services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services requested. *Verifies warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates, writing repair orders, and maintaining customer rapport and records. *Ascertains problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms, clarifying description of problems, conducting inspections, taking test drives, checking vehicle maintenance records, and examining service schedules. *Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor. *Calculates customer’s payment. *Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required. *Obtains approval for repairs. *Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle, obtaining customer’s approval of estimates, obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers, answering questions and concerns, and arranging towing and temporary transportation. *Must keep customers informed of status of unit in for service though follow up phone calls. *Maintains unit records by recording problems and corrective actions planned. *Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading manufacturers’ publications. *Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

*Must be a team player! *2 years’ experience in Golf cart or Powersport Industry preferred, but not required. *Has basic knowledge of 36-72V AC & DC electric systems, Flooded Lead Acid & Lithium Battery theory & operations, four stroke gasoline and Diesel engine operation, functionality, and components. *Equipment Maintenance, Lifting, Problem Solving, Reporting Research Results, Quality Focus, Productivity, Estimating, Product Knowledge, Customer Service, Problem Solving, Safety Management, Common Sense *Is familiar with general golf cart products and vehicles. *Can demonstrate good ability to learn and operate new computer systems. *Ability to follow established policies and procedures, as defined by management. *Able to effectively multi-task several job functions at once. *Must possess a valid Driver's License, and clean MVR.

Working Conditions

Shop environment that may require kneeling, bending, climbing, twisting, and lifting heavy objects.

Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

May be required to work more than 40 hours.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Ability to lift, pull, or push at least 50 pounds.

Routinely kneel-down and bend-over powersports vehicles.

Ability to safely operate powersports vehicles

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $10.00 - $20.00/hour.
