What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe position at Gonzaga Health Center?
In light of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic and the fact that the seasonal influenza (flu) virus is/was also widespread, we are taking proactive steps to address a number of business concerns.

Below you will find a description of job duties
- Patient Intake
- Obtain vitals including weight, height, bp, pulse, O2 stat, pain level and location of pain
- Review medication list and make changes if necessary, risk assessments, all questionnaires
- Make the patient’s provider aware of what room their patient is in and that the patient is ready, as well as if there are any concerns with the patient
- Collaborate with providers
- Abnormal vitals need to be addressed by notifying the appropriate provider of the issue
- Discuss issues/concerns of patients rather it be on the phone or in the office
- Contact the patient with the provider's advice and document the conversation in the communication log of the patient’s chart
- Note taking duties
- Complete clinical note covering patient’s conditions, complaints, medications, etc. for all appointment types
- Ensure all proper material needed is in the note by end of the business day ready for the provider to review
- Clerical Tasks
- Scan in paperwork such as signed PT/OT POC’s, imaging, etc…
- Upload documents into the appropriate patient chart on EMR
- Fax documents such as imaging orders, PT/OT orders, signed POC’s, etc..to the appropriate facility
- Complete phone calls with patients regarding their care, document in chart entire conversation and relay messages between patient and provider as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour
