About the Role

The Communications Manager is part of the organization’s Communications Team and supports new and ongoing campaigns to promote the mission and work of the organization throughout Houston.

As Communications Manager, you will collaborate with organizational departments and help the Director of Communications implement strategies to promote key initiatives and increase brand awareness to multiple stakeholders. You take an active role managing these projects in order to meet or exceed workstream goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinating several annual, region-wide campaigns, including managing external partners when needed, to ensure campaign goals are met and activities are executed on-time
  • Monitoring and reporting on campaign performance
  • Scheduling, organizing and planning with the Communications Team, other members of the Good Reason Houston Team, and (as needed) outside contractors or agencies
  • Cultivating relationships with partners and actively seeking new collaborations with peer organizations to increase brand awareness and promote ongoing campaigns
  • Identifying new technologies and trends, staying current with emerging opportunities in marketing communications

Qualifications and Key Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related experience required
  • Four or more years of experience in communications
  • Well-versed in project management best practices
  • Experience with advertising and marketing best practices
  • Able to work with colleagues at all levels to develop goals and evaluate results
  • Excellent problem-solving, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Spanish-language reading and speaking ability, preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated passion for the mission of Good Reason Houston
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Mac OS, and Google Workspace required

 

Working at Good Reason Houston

Good Reason Houston offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The starting salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 annually. New hires are offered a salary depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. Benefits offered include 401(k) (automatic 3% employer contribution), life, medical, dental and vision insurance packages. Each employee accrues 35 paid time off days per calendar year in addition to the 19 paid holidays per year. Good Reason Houston is an office-based organization, but allows for virtual work on Mondays and Fridays.
