Essential Job Duties:

Performs patient assessments in a Systematic and organized manner to provide high quality and safe outcomes.
Provides direction and collaborates with team members to support a healthy work environment.
Analyzes collected data to formulate a plan of care that contributes to high quality and safe outcomes.
Implements a plan of care with measurable criteria consistent with work class performance levels.
Evaluates the plan of care with the patient and family/support system to maintain world class levels of patient satisfaction and outcomes.
Contributes to a high performance work environment by seeking educational resources that enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills.
Apply for nursing council or committee and be vested on one council at least every 5 years. 80% attendance in person or by phone is required. Advancements in Clinical Ladder will be reflected in yearly application process and is expected for job performance standards.
Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:
Must be able to complete the following Unit Specific Job Duties:
Demonstrates recognition, interpretation, and recording of patients signs and symptoms. Demonstrates advanced knowledge in pathophysiology to anticipate medical and/or nursing interventions.
Demonstrates skill in the management of possible crises (trauma, dic, delivery, pacemakers, peritoneal lavge).
Assists respiratory therapy in the management of mechanical ventilation.
Maintains central lines, midlines, PICC's.
Communicates on IHERN radio.
Demonstrates knowledge of triaging patient utilizing five level triage method.
Demonstrates knowlege and competency to care for a moderate sedated patient.
Demonstrates knowledge of medical emergency drugs (titrating cardiac drugs).
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to administer thrombolytic therapy.
ACLS provider wtihin 6 months of hire.
PALS provider within 6 months of hire.
CPI Training within 6 months of hire.
Demonstrates knowledge to take charge on Code Blue until physician arrives.
Demonstrates knowledge and ability for outpatient procedures (blood patch, paracentesis, ocl splinting, etc.).
Demonstrates correct use of the Tracking Board.
Performs 12 lead EKG's in collaboration with Cardiology Department.
Demonstrates knowledge of and assists with adult & pediatric patients.
Assists with lab specimen collections in collaboration with Laboratory.
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Licensure: Registered Nurse license from the Indiana State Board of Nursing. Some areas may require a current and valid drivers license.
