Description
The Outside Sales Representative grows sales and increases Company profits by cultivating current customers and recruiting new customers. The Representative will promote products and provide support for new and repeat customers within an assigned territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers.
- Make in-person visits, telephone calls, and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
- Expedite the resolution of customer needs, problems, and complaints.
- Keep abreast of and present new products, product applications, technical services, etc.
- Participate in trade shows, conventions, and Company promotional events.
- Monitor credit status of current customers and assist Credit Department with collection of delinquent accounts.
- Ensure that customer orders are entered into the computer system and received in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position
- Plumbing and/or heating knowledge is plus.
- Motivated, self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Effective listening, verbal, written, and negotiating skills
- Ability to perform business math and understand profit margins
- Possess strong organizational skills
- Demonstrate integrity, ethical standards, good judgment, and sound decision-making ability
- Knowledge of Microsoft products and comfortable with computer use
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record preferred
