ABOUT THE ROLE
Some people can get down with being a follower. But you? You can't follow. You can only lead!!! Sure, you got detention that one time in kindergarten when you refused to "follow the leader" because the teacher picked Kenny to be the leader and not you... but besides that one snafu, your life of leading has brought you pure euphoria.
If you want to continue that streak of happiness brought on through leadership, you're probably the Director of Sales we are looking for!! By coming up with sales strategies and processes, in addition to challenging the entire sales team, you'd be helping the company become the best it can be.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use strategic growth planning to set sales goals, targets, and KPIs for the sales team
- Design and execute retail acquisition strategies
- Monitors the industry, business environment, competitors, and customers to develop action plans for expanding and retaining the customer base
- Develop and implement processes, tools, and structures for increasing sales
- Direct the sales team operations and develop the tactics, operational plans, and processes for sales
- Travel to trade shows, field visits, etc. to gain exposure, strengthen relationships, and increase revenue
- Lead the entire sales team by challenging them to continuously grow so they become the best version of themselves
- Conducts long-term and short-term goal setting for teams and individuals and uses data to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance
- performance
- Directs and oversees an organization's channel sales policies, objectives, and initiatives
- Sets short- and long-term channel sales strategies and evaluates effectiveness of current programs
- Builds and develops effective sales and support teams with recruiting, mentoring, and training
- Participates in meetings, presentations, and demos to support or close strategic or high-value sales
- This role will be leading the Sales team and will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer
- Perform other related duties as assigned
ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- May or may not have a degree...we don’t care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)
- 7-10 years experience in the sales field including Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sales
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Known for being a master at communication and coaching
- Leading is your middle name
- Strong working knowledge of Netsuite and Asana is a BIG plus
- Previous experience setting & holding team accountable to sales metrics
- Familiarity with the sports and outdoors categories is preferred
- Mad bonus points for experience with CRM platforms
- Enjoys driving the sales process from start to finish and coaching other along the way
- Loves the work more than a paycheck
- Thinks planning and organizing are fun
- Is happy to give away credit to their team
- Loves getting and giving feedback
- Is into personal growth
- Thinks Fun is being great (not partying)
