What are the responsibilities and job description for the Textile Processor position at Goodwill - DeKalb, IL?
Currently hiring for morning and weekend availability.
Textile Processors are responsible for assisting in the intake of soft donated goods including clothing, bedding, towels, curtains, etc.. Responsibilities include:
- select and sort soft-good items by category, including seasonal and salvage (recycling)
- sorting clothing items by size, color, and type of clothing
- examining items for any defects including holes, stains, or other issues
- hanging and pricing of goods prior to store display in the store sales area
- filling racks with sorted items to be sent to the sales floor
- preparing of rejected goods for disposal as assigned
- maintaining a neat, safe, organize, and clean work environment at all times
The Textile Processor is an entry level role. Processors must have:
- the ability to sort, select, hang and price goods and materials to be sold in the Goodwill stores
- the ability to stand in one place, twist, and bend repeatedly
- the ability to lift up to 30 lbs
The ideal candidate would have:
- familiarity with clothing brands and value
- interest in clothing and other textile categories
