The Learning & Development Facilitator is responsible for facilitating formal Goodwill programs, a la carte workshops, and learning experiences for large and small groups.
RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
The Learning and Development (L&D) Facilitator is responsible for facilitating formal Goodwill programs, a la carte workshops, and learning experiences for large and small groups. These learning opportunities may include, but are not limited to: organizational onboarding, change management, learning and development, and quality improvement in multiple modalities such as in-person, remote, online, synchronous and asynchronous. Supports the deployment of learning in the learning management system (LMS) and supports event planning for the department. Implements strategies to achieve the goals for the organization and Human Resources Learning & Development function.. Implements, revises, and sustains policies, procedures and programs. Typically works on projects and initiatives that span 3 – 12 months.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Facilitate and/or deliver training and educational programs in defined areas of expertise that engage learners, meet learning objectives and overall performance targets.
2. Prepare materials and classroom for training activities.
3. Updates existing programs by applying new delivery methodologies, learning trends and solutions that maintain the quality training program or learning initiative.
4. Develop innovative ways to deliver training (activities, learning styles, etc.). Updates program and training material content in collaboration with learning and development team.
5. Compile and report test and/or other evaluation feedback to be used to measure learning and performance as a result of learning initiatives Assist in measuring and evaluating learning and development initiatives to determine the appropriate effectiveness interventions needed to meet organizational goals, increase effectiveness, and influence change.
6. Provide coaching, facilitation, and team development in consultation with leadership and the L&D Department to implement enterprise-wide learning opportunities.
7. Applies change management principles to involve end users in project activities and to ensure project timelines include milestones for communication and learning activities
8. Coordinate formal and a la carte program logistics (i.e. registration, materials, supplies, room set up, catering, etc.) as they relate to upcoming learning events.
9. Project and Change Management: Effectively plans and manages own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments. May serve as a team member or subject matter expert on formal projects or within the department. Effectively engages in change affecting her/him, communicating appropriately with supervisor. Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.
10. Problem Solving: Light supervision; works independently. Periodic review of work by manager or senior coworker. Solves problems of moderate to advanced complexity; able to identify root cause, interpret data and resolve issues.
11. Technical Skill: Understands and applies professional principles and skills within area of specialization to modify processes to resolve situations.
12. Community Engagement: Champions Goodwill’s community engagement initiatives and serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community.
13. Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
2. Knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices for course design that incorporate adult education principles and experiential learning techniques. Experience with developing multimedia training materials preferred.
3. Strong technical aptitude, proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point, SharePoint, Articulate, Storyline or Captivate software).
4. Ability to travel to satellite (including Illinois) locations to provide consultation and to support special projects.
