Summary
S.T.R.I.V.E Program Outline : As part of Goodwill Of Silicon Valley's Mission Services, in partnership with the City of San Jose, has created a program designed to reach out and give a hand up to our unhoused neighbors. Understanding that chronic homelessness can create deep-rooted issues that go far beyond access to housing, and employment. Our STRIVE Program was designed to meet participants where they are at, and provide true care and consideration for each individual. While working with our program participants to establish access to safe housing and employment that can sustain it. We work with our participants' strengths and abilities to help them achieve their success. We strive to provide a direct pathway to a living wage and an improved quality of life. We do this by creating opportunities for unhoused individuals to work, and train, while at the same time supporting participants with housing based on their individual needs. We seek to offer a connection to resources and services by our own staff and our close-knit community partners that will enable successful program graduates with access to housing, employment, vocational skills, and the resources to maintain both employment and housing.
Major Responsibilities:
As the SJ Bridge Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the coordination and administration of the program, encompassing organization, staffing, leadership, and promotion of activities. Your primary focus will be working collaboratively with staff and crews to ensure the delivery of high-quality services, with regular reporting to City of San Jose stakeholders.
Key Duties:
- Develop and manage a team that delivers exceptional outcomes
- Develop and pursue new initiatives to support the strategic development of the program
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to gain community support for the program
- Coordinate the delivery of services to increase effectiveness and efficiency
- Prepare funding proposals to ensure continuous delivery of services
- Ensure that all program staff receive appropriate training when hired and promote continuous training on related topics
- Work with City officials to implement service delivery in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Work with Emergency Interim Housing (EIH) partner to promote client stability and improve self- sufficiency
- Develop and support the growth of program staff through engagement and empowerment
- Communicate with funders as needed; ensure financial reports and supporting documentation for funders are prepared as outlined in funding agreements
- Monitor and approve all budgeted program expenditures; ensure that the program operates within the approved budget
- Monitor progress of program goals; create and implement action plans
- Performs other duties as requested
Educational/Professional Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
● 3 years of successful experience working with individuals that have complex barriers to employment
(experience with homeless populations preferred), or an equivalent combination of experience and education
● Minimum 2 years contract or grant management experience
● Knowledge of and practice in applicable recovery models, with employment being the main goal
● Excellent technology skills, proficiency in computer and tablet usage.
● Excellent data entry skills and proficiency in MS Office, case management databases, internet, and
Google applications
● Willingness and ability to grow professionally, be accountable, and to expand skills and adapt to evolving environments is required

Job Setting:
- The job will be performed indoors at Goodwill headquarters in San Jose and outdoors in various locations determined by contract.
Physical Demands:
- The job involves sedentary and light work. Lifting of up to 30 lbs may be required.
- Responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at management's discretion, formally or informally either orally or in writing.
Pay Range
$75,000 - $80,000 per year
