About the Position
The IT Support Technician will be the primary Information Technology support representative for the Goodyear Race Tire facility in Akron. This position will consult with the Global IT Infrastructure Service and the regional Americas IT organizations. They will be responsible for professional and technical work in all areas of IT support. This role will report to an IT manager and be responsible for supporting transitional and operational IT tasks and duties in the plant. The role will support Network implementations that span across a broad range of Global Network Services and Solutions as well as deskside support for plant associates, infrastructure & server support, applications support and operations support. The role will assist in troubleshooting network and PLC related issues and implement network related improvement projects.
Primary Responsibilities
INFRASTRUCTURE:
- Server operations, maintenance and lifecycle management (monitoring, patching, troubleshooting).
- Networking (office and plant floor) operations, maintenance and lifecycle management.
- Telecommunications (phones, intercom) and firewall support. Wireless access point operations, maintenance, and lifecycle management (monitoring, patching, troubleshooting).
- Server room environmental support. CCTV operations and maintenance
DESKSIDE:
- Printers’ operation and maintenance (monitoring, patching, troubleshooting).
- User laptop support.
- PC operations and maintenance, setup/imaging, and refreshes.
- Production support devices operations and maintenance.
MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS:
- User Support/Incident Management, Business Analysis/Requirement Gathering, Coordinate application software and system upgrades, User management and licensing.
- Troubleshoot communication between Goodyear systems (Level 1, Level 2, APS, Trace host, Sort System, etc.)
- Back Office Systems: User Support/Incident Management, Business Analysis/Requirement Gathering, User management/application security
PROJECTS AND PRODUCTION SUPPORT:
- Planning and coordination of a manufacturing execution system (requirements gathering, testing, etc), Optimize mold changes, HMI and Industrial PC firmware modifications, upgrades, hard drive cloning to improve reliability, Tire Assembly Advanced Process Server maintenance and upgrades, Tire Assembly network diagnostics, monitoring, and troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting, Production report visualization, Facilities controls improvements (HVAC, Boiler, Air Compressor), Plantwide SCADA system implementation.
- IT Audits and Business Continuity
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business Administration (or in lieu of degree, 8 years of relevant experience.)
- 3 years of relevant Technical or Business work experience.
- Ability to convey complex and Technical Issues to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand the Business needs and deliver prompt, efficient and quality service to the Business.
- Advanced level of Technical knowledge
