What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafe Associate position at goPuff?
goPuff is seeking energetic and dedicated Cafe Associates (Barista) to support all day-to-day activities associated with our newly launched operations in Philadelphia (with many more to come!). We are looking individuals excited by quality coffee, teamwork, and fast-paced environments. This job creates an experience for our customers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products while maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. Additional responsibilities may be included at management’s discretion and consistent with Company needs.
Responsibilities
Receiving and Put Away
- Sort/Receive product from vendors, ensuring physical count matches purchase
order/invoice, and resolve discrepancies when they do not match
- Put away product to inventory locations, in accordance with applicable instruction and
expiration requirements
Preparation of Orders
- Prepare quality beverages and food products consistently for all customers by adhering
to all recipe and presentation standards.
- Ensure accuracy of all beverages and foods handed out
- Properly prepare and stage/handoff orders
- Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Label beverages and food items for proper preparation
Customer Service
- Contact customer for substituted or out-of-stock items if necessary
- Amend order contents per confirmation of substitution
- Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to
customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
Facility Organization and Standards
- Conduct cycle counts to identify loss and improve in-stock position
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and
product as needed.
- Manage waste and spoilage through mindful pouring and food preparation
- Ensure the Standards of Conduct and other Company policies are followed
Assist General Manager and Shift Leads with any site-related tasks as directed.
Qualifications
- Passionate about providing an exceptional and consistent customer experience
- Ability to use Company-provided digital applications
- Experience in customer-facing and/or other fast-paced retail environment preferred
- Experience working in a restaurant and retail environment
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Bonus points if you love coffee & matcha as much as we do!
Requirements
- Ability to read and understand directions as provided by site supervisor(s)
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
- Standing and walking for the duration of an assigned shift
- Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays (5a-11p)
