What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensing & Compliance Lead position at Gopuff?
Overview:
Gopuff is seeking a practical, organized and business-focused professional to assume the role of Licensing & Compliance Lead, reporting to Gopuff’s Head of Regulated Products and Corporate Compliance. The Licensing & Compliance Lead will work in numerous facets of Gopuff’s business, including compliance, regulatory reviews, interpretation of local, State, and Federal legislation, research & data compilation for new & existing business functions. The preferred location for this position is Philadelphia (PA).
\n- Support the Company’s regulated products and corporate compliance programs
- Collaborate with other team members with respect to alcohol and tobacco licensing
- Develop an understanding in how Gopuff locations are zoned and permitted in order to support business needs
- Work with highly sensitive material and maintain absolute confidentiality at all times
- Proactively identify and suggest opportunities for continuous improvement of processes across corporate functions
- Monitor and review of local, state, and federal laws to understand how they may impact business operations
- Develop and institutionalize compliance routines, including audits
- Deploy data to identify risk and potential remediation measures
- Conduct legal research as needed
- Be a self-starter, be able to multitask and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Compliance, general litigation, and/or paralegal experience preferred
- Experience working in-house preferred
- Zoning expertise a plus
- Alcohol and tobacco licensing experience a plus
- Experience reading & interpreting legislation & legal documents
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across the organization’s various departments.
- Experience with Excel, and data compilation & analysis
- Ability to prioritize, remain organized, and execute effectively within a fast paced, team-oriented environment
- A detail-oriented, self-starter attitude with the ability to think critically and exercise independent judgment
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
- Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
